    For the second straight season, the Queens College men’s basketball team had a chance to get into the playoffs on the last night of their regular season, but like last season, things didn’t go the Knights’ way. A 75-62 loss to the University of the District Colombia (UDC) Firebirds on March 2 ended a season where the team went 7-11 in conference play, the same as last season.     Naloxone: The true lifesaver

    At least 115 people in the U.S. die of an opioid overdose every day causing the White House to recently declare the epidemic a national emergency. Therefore, increasing the availability of Naloxone (Narcan) kits, especially on the Queens College campus, will help in combating this problem that’s been keeping a vice-like grip on this country. According to Practical Recovery, a drug addiction treatment center in San Diego, California, Naloxone is a medication that serves as an antidote to opioid overdose. Naloxone works by reversing respiratory depression caused by opioid (natural, semi-synthetic and fully synthetic) drugs.     Fashion phenomenon Karl Lagerfeld dies at age 85

    Karl Lagerfeld, a famous fashion designer who was the mastermind behind leading brands like Chloé and Fendi, passed away at the age of 85 this past February. On Feb. 19th, 2019, the fashion industry lost a world-renowned designer and visionary. Known for his platinum white hair and dark shades, Karl stood as an eminent, and partially intimidating, figure in the fashion community. Karl was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1933.
