    QC alum Michael Cohen reflects career in roundtable

    Michael Cohen is a producer and director for major networks like ESPN, NBC and FOX. He was head of production for two FIFA World Cups, producer for nine Olympics Games, nominated 15 times for the Emmys and produced the first-ever Extreme Games or X-Games. He is also a Queens College professor. Cohen graduated from QC in 1983. He came to the college in September 2014 to speak. Afterward, he worked with Michael Weisman, his business mentor, to create a class in the media studies department.     Queens College alumni create new course on sports broadcasting

    Michael Cohen and Michael Weisman, two Queens College alumni, are collaborating to provide opportunities for students entering into the sports broadcasting field. After speaking at QC as a guest in October, Cohen thought it would be a great idea to bring back his experiences working in the sports broadcast field to the classroom.     Emmy Award winning alumni returns to inspire

    On Sept. 29, Michael Cohen, a Queens College alum, returned to educate students on careers in the sports broadcasting field. Cohen grew up in Kew Gardens, N.Y. and attended Hillcrest High School before attending QC. While attending high school, he took part in an internship with NBC in their news division. It was there that he accumulated more experience in news media. He graduated from QC in 1983. Cohen is currently the president and executive producer of Bizzy Signals Entertainment.
