    Nathan’s arrival could just be the beginning

    Nathan’s Famous made its debut in the Dining Hall, on Feb. 24, the first widely known food chain to serve on campus. Although specializing in hotdogs, students have been lining up for burgers, fries, chicken tenders and much more at the new Nathan’s. Within the first two weeks, it has accounted for 35 percent of total sales in the Q-Cafe. “More people are gravitating to the Nathan’s,” director of dining services, David Crump said. “We’ve seen a shift from the other stations that sell hot food.” Last spring, Chartwells administered a preference survey, soliciting feedback from students.     Dining hours justified

    With both hands filled with grocery bags, Chelsea Weiss slowly got through campus on her way back to her dorm room. Weiss, a sophomore at Queens College, gets her grocery shopping done for the weekend on Fridays because all dining facilities but one on campus are closed on the weekends. “What’s the point of having a meal plan if I have to buy groceries for the weekend because the food places aren’t open,” Weiss said. Students like Weiss who dorm at The Summit, have the inconvenience of a majority of food facilities on campus being closed on the weekends. But it is not the only issue The Summit residents face. …
