    The Stoneman Douglas High School Shooting: What happened and where we’re going

    By Ameila Inderjeit, Shivaal Sinanan, & Siddharth Malviya Background On Wednesday, February 14, a 19 year-old gunman identified as Nikolas Cruz opened gunfire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, in Parkland, Florida. 17 people were murdered, 14 of them students between the ages 14-18–none of them got to walk across the stage for graduation, others didn’t even get a chance to finish their first year of high school. Three teachers who went to school that morning for another day of work lost their lives protecting their students from gunfire.
