    Las Vegas, a West Coast Tragedy

    TKN would like apologize for the publication error. The last three lines were not included in the printed edition of Issue 2.  Americans woke up to horrific news last Monday October 2nd. Radio stations and News channels tried updating the morning audience on the ongoing story of the horrific tragedy that took place the night before – Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man from Nevada opened fire with semi-automatic weapons on more than 20,000 concert-goers at the Harvest Festival in Las Vegas.     Remembering 9/11

    On September 11, 2017, Queens College held a memorial in honor of those who lost their lives 16 years ago during the country’s deadliest terrorist attack. Reflection on the horrific day deeply touched attendees of the campus’ memorial. This year, the eerie mood was complemented by the overcast sky and humid air. Throughout the morning, the crowd slowly grew with students and staff members. Leaveena Singh, a sophomore studying fitness and nutrition exercise, emphasized the importance of continuing to acknowledge the day’s horrific event: “The day is viewed by students as important as Independence Day.     Israel Student Association Hosts Israel Fest

    Queens College students hosted Israel Fest 2017 on May 8th on the quad. Israel Student Association (ISA) board members planned a day full of activities, food, music, and learning for QC students. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, music, dancing, and a live camel. Bailey Herzfled, a sophomore at Queens College, mentioned how the camel contributed to Israel Fest as one of the most unique events held on campus yearly. “The camel definitely caught everyone’s attention.
