    QC Hillel gives back

    To kick-start the new month, Queens College’s Hillel organized and held their first ever Good Deeds Day Donation Drive on April 8. The Drive accepted donations of “diapers, toothbrushes and toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and soap bars,” which will be donated to “Homes for the Homeless.”   Good Deeds Day was organized by sophomore and undeclared major, Aviva Chait, who is one of QC Hillel’s LINK Fellowship interns. She described LINK as a, “Student engagement fellowship that you apply for if you have programming you want to run, like engaging with the community, and it gives you funding.” Chait decided to bring Good Deeds Day to QC to celebrate her birthday…

    QC Hillel names Jenna Citron as executive director

    Q Jenna Citron has finally been named as Executive Director of QC Hillel after years of becoming close to the Jewish community of Queens College. “Queens College is a phenomenal institution of higher education. I am inspired every day by the dedication and passion of its students, staff, faculty and administration,” said Citron. “I am honored that I get the opportunity to continue to work on this campus, and lead QC Hillel to new heights.” Jenna joined QC Hillel in 2012, with prior experience at the Hillel of Florida State University.     Hillel Club Spotlight

    The Hillel Club at Queens College is today regarded as one of the pillars of student life on campus. Founded at QC in 1947, Hillel has been a community center for Jewish and non-Jewish students alike to come and unwind with friends, engage in activities sponsored by the club and, more importantly, to engage in Jewish learning. Interim Executive Director Jenna Citron has been involved with Hillel since she was a student at Florida State University.
