    QC Knights Men’s Basketball Recap: Building a Program that Wants to Win

    The Queens College men’s basketball team’s season finished up on Feb. 24 after a blowout loss to the East Coast Conference regular season leaders Bridgeport with a final score of 114-85. That night the Molloy College Lions defeated Mercy College, winning a tiebreaker against the Knights to qualify for the ECC Men’s Basketball Championship tournament. While the final night of the regular season brought disappointment, the Knights can walk away from this season with their heads held high with the hope and belief that they have the ability to come back as a better team next season.     Women’s Fencing Team Conquers at Home Invitational Meet

    On Sunday, February 11, the women’s fencing team were ready to fight their opponents at the Fitz Gymnasium. The QC team faced off against Long Island University Post, City College of New York, and Yeshiva University. The team had been working hard at practice for this meet and it paid off on Sunday, with the team finishing 3-0. Although, the opponents put up a great fight, the Knights gave it all they had to capture the victory. The team’s next meet is scheduled for Sunday, February 25 in New Jersey.     The QC women’s fencing team prepares for season opening

    The QC Women’s Fencing team is currently preparing for their upcoming competition at Vassar College. Practice is ongoing, with Greg Rupp as the team’s esteemed coach. There are many new talented students joining the team this year, so this should be a great season not to be missed. Since early October, practice has begun. The team is made up of 9 girls, 3 for each weapon. Epee, Foil, and Sabre are the three weapons used in fencing, each with a different style of fighting.     QC Basketball: The Knights Put on a Show at MidKnight Madness

    Queens College students and fans got a chance to see their men’s and women’s basketball teams as they electrified the crowd for MidKnight Madness. To kick off the start of a new season, both teams gave onlookers a chance to see their talent at the teams’ first official practice which featured a skills contest, slam dunk contest and other fan friendly activities. As the teams were being announced, the crowd cheered loud and proud for their Knights while the players and coaches threw t-shirts into the crowd. The two-hour event was filled with music, games, dance shows and food.
